Report: Conte will ask Spurs to sign Italian attacker if he signs a new contract

CalcioMercatoWeb.it have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a move for Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa but the Bianconeri have no intention of letting the player go without a fight.

Chiesa exploded in his first season at Juventus following his switch from Fiorentina in 2020 but the winger has not hit those heights for the last 18 months, partly due to a series of injury problems (Transfermarkt).

CMW.it now state that Antonio Conte looks set to commit his future to Tottenham and that the Italian will ask the North London club to pursue the Juve star.

The report explains that Spurs are likely to start an onslaught for the 25-year-old during next summer’s transfer window rather than in January.

However, it is said that the Old Lady do not wish to let Chiesa go and have warned Conte and Fabio Paratici about that fact.

CMW.it alleges that the Serie A giants will only be willing to part ways with the Italy international if Tottenham offer one of either Son Heung-min or Richarlison as part of the deal, or if they present a ‘very important cash offer’.

Spurs Web Opinion

Chiesa’s quality is not in doubt and the 25-year-old’s tenacity and his work rate will be valued highly by Conte. However, the only concern would be about the former Fiorentina man’s fitness, which one would expect Tottenham to do their due diligence on if they are prepared to spend big on the player.
