Report: Conte would ‘welcome’ signing of 27-year-old midfielder at Spurs

According to Calciomercato.it, Antonio Conte would welcome the addition of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes to his Tottenham squad.

Tottenham reportedly wanted to sign Parades during the January transfer windows but the Argentine was not interested in making the move at the time (The Athletic).

Antonio Conte’s men snapped up Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus instead and the Uruguayan has hit the ground running in North London.

According to Calciomercato.it’s latest update, PSG are ready to cash in on Parades when the transfer window opens in the summer.

The report claims that Inter Milan are keen on snapping up the 27-year-old, given the player’s familiarity with the Serie A.

It is asserted that Parades’ current salary of €5m (£4.1m) per season would fall within the Nerazzurri’s budget.

Spurs are named as Inter’s main competitors for the PSG star, with the report stating that Conte would like to bring the midfielder to North London.

Calciomercato.it add that while the Ligue 1 giants value Parades at around €25m (£20.7m), Inter hope to negotiate the price down to €20m (£16.5m).

Spurs Web Opinion

Some Spurs fans might view Parades as an underwhelming option but the same was said about Bentancur in January. I believe that the Argentine can be a decent fit for Conte’s system, and would prove an upgrade on Harry Winks should the England international push for a move this summer.
