According to a report in TuttoMercatoWeb (as relayed by Juve FC), Juventus have hit a snag in their efforts to tie down rumoured Tottenham target Adrien Rabiot to a new contract.
Rabiot’s current deal at the Allianz Stadium runs out in June and it has been reported over recent weeks that several clubs have begun exploring the possibility of signing the Juventus star on a free transfer in the summer.
Last month, HITC claimed that Tottenham are one of the clubs following the Frenchman’s situation closely ahead of the summer, with the North London club said to have even reached out to the player’s entourage over a potential move.
This was also backed up subsequently by Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness), who said that the Lilywhites were one of several clubs ‘testing the waters’ for the player ahead of the summer.

Adrien Rabiot contract talks not progressing
TMW have now explained that while Juve are keen to tie Rabiot to a new deal, there are ‘increased suspicions’ at the club that he wants out at the end of the season.
It is explained that while the midfielder wants an increase on his €7m (£6m) per season salary, the Bianconeri have made it clear that he would actually have to accept a reduced wage in order to remain at the club.
Amidst the standoff between the two sides, Massimiliano Allegri’s men have allegedly started exploring the market for potential replacements for Rabiot.
Spurs Web Opinion
Rabiot does not look likely to pen a new contract at Juve and I would not be surprised if he is Premier League-bound in the summer. However, I do not think Spurs will show interest in the 28-year-old, who is not a great fit in terms of age and his personality for Postecoglou’s project.
