Report: Cristiano Ronaldo approves Juve’s pursuit of Spurs star

According to CalcioMercato, Juventus are eying a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso in the summer transfer window.

Lo Celso has not managed to build on his impressive second half of last season in North London since injury problems have prevented the Argentine from having a consistent run in the side this campaign.

The 24-year-old is now back in training after recovering from his hamstring problem and Jose Mourinho has admitted that he expects him to be back in contention to play before in the near future.

Fabrizio Romano claimed last week that the midfielder was attracting plenty of interest from Spain but insisted that he remains happy at Spurs.

If CalcioMercato is to be believed, Juve are also eyeing a move for the former Real Betis man at the season.

The report reveals that Cristiano Ronaldo is a fan of the Spurs star and has given his approval for the Serie A giants to pursue the deal.

It is suggested that the reigning Italian champions could look to make an offer for Lo Celso with a fee in the region of just €25m (£21.6m) in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Lo Celso comes back from his injury and shows glimpses of the form that we saw from him last season, then I do not see Spurs being willing to move him on in the summer. Mourinho clearly seems to be a big fan of the Argentine.

On the other hand, if he struggles to produce consistent performances and finds himself being restricted to a bit-part role, the North Londoners might consider cashing in on him. However, there is no way that £21m would be enough to price him away.
