Report: Crystal Palace could hand £8m starlet his debut against Spurs

Michael Olise could be handed his Crystal Palace debut against Tottenham following the international break, according to Football.london.

Olise became Patrick Vieira’s first signing since taking charge of the club this summer, joining the Eagles from Reading for a reported fee £8 million fee.

The 19-year old enjoyed a stellar campaign at the Madejski Stadium last season, netting 7 goals and recording 12 assists in the Championship as Reading narrowly missed out on a play-off spot.

He is yet to feature for Palace this season after continuing to recover from a back injury, which caused the teenager to miss out on their pre-season campaign.

Olise recently returned to full first-team training following Palace’s last fixture and stands a chance to feature for the first time against Spurs at Selhurst Park next Saturday (September 11).

It is unlikely that Olise will nail down a starting spot next weekend as he continues to build match fitness, but an appearance from the bench looks all the more likely as it stands.

A young star of Olise’s quality at just £8 million is an undoubted snip for Crystal Palace. He has all the ingredients to easily become an attacking star to be fearful of, and his exposition to Premier League football will go a long way to helping that.
