Report: Crystal Palace have entered the race for out-of-favour Spurs man

According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are interested in signing out of favour Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks this summer.

Winks made 19 Premier League appearances for Spurs this season, starting just nine games (TransferMarkt).

The 26-year-old’s lack of game time under Antonio Conte, who showed a preference for a midfield pairing of Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after Oliver Skipp’s injury (TransferMarkt), has increased the likelihood of Winks departing the club in the coming weeks (Daily Mail).

The Telegraph first reported interest in the Spurs academy graduate from both Everton and Newcastle United. A fresh report from the Daily Mail now names Crystal Palace as another potential destination for Winks this summer.

Spurs seem to have a readied a replacement for Winks should he depart N17, with Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma completing his switch to Hotspur Way on Friday.

If Winks prefers to remain in London rather than moving up North, the Hemel Hempstead-born midfielder may prefer Patrick Viera’s side.

It will be slightly sad to see Winksy leave the club as he is clearly Spurs through and through and at one point looked as though he would become a permanent fixture in our midfield for years to come.
