Report: Daniel Levy blocked a 50% sale of Tottenham worth £800m

A report from Football Insider has now claimed that Daniel Levy blocked a 50% sale of Tottenham Hotspur last year because he did not want to give up control of the club.

This comes after a report earlier this week that claimed Joe Lewis, the owner of Tottenham Hotspur, is actively looking for a buyer. It even claimed that he has sanctioned brokers in order to facilitate a sale.

This report said that Joe Lewis valued the club at £1.6 billion and had found a 50% buyer in a deal worth around £800 million. Unfortunately, the deal fell through and many were left frustrated by this.

This new report sheds more light on the situation, claiming that Levy did not want to give up control over decision-making and strategy.

The £800m investors then walked away from negotiations as they were not prepared to give in to such demands over the control of the club.

The source reportedly told Football Insider: “Levy wouldn’t give them any control, so they pulled out.”

Despite this, Joe Lewis is said to still be looking for buyers.
