Report: Daniel Levy ‘frustrated’ to see how Mourinho has treated first-team player

Dele Alli’s meteoric rise to fame at Tottenham Hotspur was well documented following his £5million move from MK Dons.

The midfielder flourished under the management of Mauricio Pochettino which saw him score 50 Premier League goals in a quicker time than some other household names including Eden Hazard, Paul Scholes, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard (The Sun).

Dele’s career has stalled this season after falling out of favour with Jose Mourinho to the extent where he has only started one of Tottenham’s 23 Premier League matches this season (transfermarkt).

Mourinho admitted earlier this month that he had held a meeting with the England international and that the pair had found common ground during their discussions (Telegraph).

Eurosport claim that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has been frustrated to watch Dele become a fringe figure within the first team squad.

Levy was said to have blocked the possibility of Dele linking up with former boss Mauricio Pochettino last month with PSG having been keen to take him on loan for the remainder of the season (talkSPORT).
