Report: Daniel Levy has already agreed deal for Spurs player to leave in January

Sportske Novosti have claimed that Ivan Perisic is expected to return to Hajduk Split in January as the wing-back was part of the negotiations between Tottenham and the Croatian club for Luka Vuskovic.

Tottenham confirmed on Monday that they had reached an agreement with Hajduk over the transfer of Vuskovic, who will arrive at the North London club in the summer of 2025.

Spurs revealed that the 16-year-old, who is one of the most highly rated players in the world in his age group, has agreed on a contract at N17 until 2030.

Perisic expected to move the other way

Sportske Novosti have now revealed that Daniel Levy and Hajduk president Luksa Jakobusic had been locked in negotiations for months before they finally reached an agreement for the teenager.

The publication stated that Spurs will allow Perisic to return to his boyhood club when the transfer window opens as part of the agreement.

It is alleged that the two parties reached a ‘verbal agreement’ that the 34-year-old, who is contracted to Tottenham until next summer, would be allowed to move to Stadion Poljud mid-season.

This agreement would have likely been reached before Perisic suffered an ACL injury, which is expected to keep him out of at least until March or April.

In fact, I do wonder if it was Perisic’s injury that led to the delay in the announcement of the Vuskovic transfer, with the two clubs having to slightly alter the terms of the agreement.
