Report: Daniel Levy has decided on his top two manager candidates at Spurs

CalcioMercato have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur want to hire one of Julian Nagelsmann or Luis Enrique this summer.

It has emerged over the last couple of weeks that Nagelsmann is Spurs’ top managerial target, with The Independent claiming recently that the North London club will do their best to convince the German to take over.

The report added that should Tottenham fail to do so, they would turn their attention to Feyenoord boss Arne Slot.

Meanwhile, the speculation linking Vincent Kompany with a move to the Lilywhites shows no signs of dissipating, with journalist Sacha Tavolieri claiming a couple of days ago that the Burnley boss’ representatives are currently in talks with the Spurs hierarchy.

However, if CalcioMeracto’s latest update is to be believed, it is Enrique who remains one of Tottenham’s top preferences alongside Naglesmann.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich managers are said to be the ‘main’ candidates in consideration at the moment as Levy knows that the next appointment is very important for the future of the club.

The report adds that the Tottenham chairman wants to bring in a ‘big name’ in order to appease the fans.

Going for a ‘big name’ has not worked out too well for Tottenham over recent years, which is why Levy might lean towards Slot or Kompany if the move for Nagelsmann falls through.

Besides, it appears like Paratici was the one who was pushing Enrique’s case, and the Spaniard might have fallen down the pecking order following the Italian’s departure.
