Report: Daniel Levy is lining up ‘one last push’ for Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy could be set to make one last effort to bring Mauricio Pochettino back to the club, according to The Sun.

The report claims the North Londoners are closing in on Antonio Conte after experiencing issues in their dealings with Paris Saint-Germain to lure Pochettino back to London.

Pochettino has been unable to free himself of a move away from the French capital which has saw Levy turn to the former Inter Milan boss.

Levy is said to want Jose Mourinho’s replacement confirmed by the end of next week and was hoping to capitalise on the rumoured fractured relationship between Pochettino and Leonardo in order to complete a remarkable return of the Argentine.

While Conte is now likely to be named as Tottenham’s new head coach, it looks as if Levy is throwing one last attempt at Pochettino to force his way out of the Ligue 1 giants.

It seems highly unlikely at this stage whether Pochettino would be able to engineer an exit, with Conte having no such issues following his departure from Inter Milan last month.
