Jose Mourinho confirms that Daniel Levy has made him Tottenham transfer promise

According to a report from The Daily Mail, Jose Mourinho has been promised that none of Tottenham’s key players will be sold this summer.

Tottenham are in a precarious financial position as a result of the pandemic but it is said that the club will not be entertaining any offers for players they want to keep this summer.

Even though money is tight at Spurs, Daniel Levy is thought to be keen to back Mourinho in the transfer window and help address the weaknesses in the squad.

Additionally, it is claimed that the North Londoners know that their valuation of key players is unlikely to be met by other clubs in the post-COVID market, and it is suggested that Levy will thus not enter into negotiations.

However, the report does suggest that the Lilywhites will sell fringe players to raise transfer funds this summer, with Tanguy Ndombele mentioned as one of those who could be moved on.

It is also asserted that Tottenham have set their sights on Bournemouth’s Aaron Ramsdale, who they want to see competing with Hugo Lloris for the number one shirt.

Additionally, it is claimed that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Kim Min-jae are the Spurs’ top midfield and defensive targets this summer.

In his pre-match press conference today, Jose Mourinho reportedly confirmed that Daniel Levy and the club had assured him that no key players would need to be sold this summer.

Going by the estimated losses of various clubs around Europe, no one is going to be in a position to meet our valuation of Kane or Son at least for the next couple of years. We have a decent spine already and we could be a real force next season if we make three of four smart additions to the squad this summer.
