Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is said to believe that Antonio Conte is the best manager he has ever appointed during his tenure in north London, according to The Athletic.
Conte was heavily linked with the vacant managerial position at Tottenham last June and the club were thought to have been close to a deal to succeed Jose Mourinho, only for Ley to have reportedly pulled the plug on a potential appointment over reservations about his reluctance to utilise the club’s academy and his financial demands (The Sun).
The disastrous appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo saw Conte finally appointed in November and completed a remarkable transformation of the side which he inherited in ninth place in the Premier League table to eventually secure a top four finish and a return to the Champions League.
Levy is reportedly proud of the fact that he managed to secure the services of the former Inter Milan manager at the second attempt to take up the post in N17.

Credit has to go to Levy for not only the appointment but also for staying true to his word to back the Italian in the current transfer window.
