Report: Daniel Levy walks away from the negotiating table

Tottenham Hotspur have decided to shelve talks with Real Betis over a potential deal to bring Giovani Lo Celso to North London.

Sky Sports report that two clubs have been unable to agree a fee for the Argentina international.

Lo Celso completed a permanent switch to Betis earlier this year for just £19.8million following the conclusion of his loan move from Paris Saint-Germain and penned a contract which contains an £88 million transfer release clause (Daily Mail).

Spurs are previously said to have tabled a £53 million offer for the 23-year-old which was turned down by the La Liga outfit (BBC), who according to Sky Sports are holding out for the full £88 million which they are entitled to.

The player was viewed as a potential replacement for Christian Eriksen who expressed his desire to leave the club this summer to seek a new challenge and is open to a move to Real Madrid (Ekstra Bladet).

Sky suggest that the talks are not dead in the water and Daniel Levy may head back to the negotiation table if Eriksen, who has just a year to run on his current deal at Spurs does depart before the start of the new campaign.
