Report: Daniel Levy willing to sell Spurs player at a ‘major loss’ in 2020

Tottenham Hotspur may have problems at right-back this season but that reportedly will not stop Daniel Levy from selling Serge Aurier in the new year.

Football Insider claim that the Spurs chairman is willing to take a major loss on the full-back in order to sell him in January. It is said that he does not expect to sell Aurier for close to the £23m Spurs paid (BBC).

Aurier was welcomed back into the team against Crystal Palace last month in Tottenham’s best performance of the season, with the side winning 4-0 at home.

Aurier was instrumental in the win and even looked impressive in the defeat to Leicester the week after, having his goal chalked off for offside by VAR.

However, since those two games, it has gone downhill for the Ivorian, as he saw red against Southampton at home before being torn apart by Bayern Munich in the 7-2 defeat.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I would argue that any money for this liability is nothing short of a miracle. If we are talking about players who are not committed to the club and look as if they don’t care whether Spurs win or lose, Aurier has to be the first to go.
