Report: Danny Rose agrees deal in principle to join Premier League side

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose has agreed to join Premier League newcomers Watford following his release from the North Londoners, according to The Athletic.

The left-back ended his 14-year association with Tottenham earlier this month after his contract expired.

The 30-year-old joined Spurs from Leeds as a teenager in 2007 and went on to make 214 appearances in all competitions for the club (transfermarkt).

The Athletic claim that the England international has agreed a deal in principle with the Hornets and will certainly be looking to return to regular first-team football.

Rose fell out of favour with Jose Mourinho at Tottenham, having previously been a favourite under former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Mourinho and Rose were famously captured on camera during Amazon’s All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur documentary (Episode 5) with the defender expressing his discontent at his lack of game time and threatened the Portuguese that he would meet with chairman Daniel Levy over the matter.
