Newcastle United are considering offering Danny Rose a route out of Tottenham Hotspur.

The report claims that the Magpies were interested in Rose last summer and could return for him this month after left back Jetro Willems’ was ruled out with a season-ending knee injury.

Rose reportedly fell out with Jose Mourinho after not being picked in the matchday squad against Watford (Daily Mail) but the Tottenham head coach has denied that there was any problem between the pair (Football.London).

The defender revealed in November of his intention to run down his existing contract in North London and leave the club on a free transfer when his deal expires in June 2021 (Evening Standard).

The Telegraph claims that Newcastle are likely to seek a loan deal to cover their left-back issues with Paul Dummett also set to miss the rest of the season (BBC).

Doncaster-born Rose has previously said that he wants to return back up north before he retires (Guardian).

It is clear that we need to sell Rose as not only does he seem past it, but he looks like a potential negative influence on the dressing room. Seeing as Rose has made it clear that he is not going to accept a permanent transfer away, perhaps loaning him out could be the best option. Playing regularly again could convince him to seek a move away from the club and could also add a few million to his price tag.
