Report: Danny Rose makes short-term transfer decision

According to Football.London, Danny Rose has decided to snub any potential move to a Championship club before Friday’s EFL deadline.

The 30-year-old has not been handed a squad number by Tottenham Hotspur after the club failed to find a buyer for him before the European transfer window closed (Athletic).

It has been revealed that the left-back stands ‘no chance’ of being reintegrated back into the first-team by Jose Mourinho if he does not join a Championship club before Friday’s domestic deadline (Daily Mail).

It does not look like Rose is fazed by the prospect of being frozen out at Spurs, with Football.London reporting that the England international is quite relaxed about his future.

The report reveals that the experienced defender is not willing to take a step down to the second tier of English football and will turn down any chance to join a Championship club either on loan or a permanent deal.

However, the possibility of the left-back leaving Tottenham by the end of this month has not been ruled out, with a move to the MLS or Portugal still a mooted as a possibility as Primeira Liga clubs are allowed to sign players until the end of this month.

With Southgate admitting recently that he has been in touch with Rose, I believe that the main point the left-back will be considering is giving himself the best shot of making the England squad for the Euros. Moving to the MLS will certainly not be beneficial for him in that respect.
