Report: Deal agreed for midfielder’s departure from Tottenham

Victor Wanyama’s three year stint at Tottenham Hotspur looks to be coming to an end.

Sky Sports are this evening reporting that Club Brugge have agreed on a £12 milllion deal for the Kenyan international.

Wanyama is yet to play this campaign and made 13 Premier League appearances last term. His involvement has been limited due to ongoing knee problems having made 36 Premier League appearances in his first season, followed by 18 the season after (BBC).

Brugge secured their place in this season’s Champions League group stages after coming through qualification and their reward is a place in Group A along with Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Galatasaray.

The midfielder moved to White Hart Lane from Southampton in June 2016 for £11million where he was reunited with Mauricio Pochettino who had previously managed him at the Saints (BBC).

His first-team opportunities in North London had become limited following the arrival of club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele along with Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks, Eric Dier and Oliver Skipp ahead of him in the pecking order.

He has previously played in Belgium after featuring for Germinal Beerschot before he moved to Scottish side Celtic for an undisclosed fee in July 2011 (BBC).
