Report: Deal for Spurs star could still go through in final few hours of the window

According to Friday’s edition of L’Equipe (as relayed by Sport Witness), Dele Alli’s proposed transfer to Paris Saint-Germain could go right down to the wire.

It was previously reported that Tottenham were looking to snap up a replacement for Alli before letting him join PSG on loan.

It was revealed that Jose Mourinho was open to letting the 24-year-old leave and that the decision is likely to come down to Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

Mourinho has maintained that the England international is currently out with an injury and has not given a potential return date for the midfielder.

Friday’s edition of L’Equipe has now claimed PSG and Tottenham are continuing to hold discussions over a potential loan deal for Alli.

The report reveals that the deal is not likely to be agreed until transfer deadline day and is expected to drag on until the final few hours before the window slams shut.

However, that is not due to any hesitation on the part of the Tottenham midfielder, who is said to be keen on reuniting with Mauricio Pochettino in Paris.

I do have my doubts as to whether Alli is genuinely injured or he is just forcing the club’s hand regarding the move to PSG. One cannot blame him for being desperate to leave since he does not look like he has any chance of getting back into Mourinho’s plans.
