Report: Defender confident of Spurs move despite deadlock in negotiations

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Djed Spence has been one of the most heavily covered transfer stories over the past few weeks.

Sky Sports reported yesterday that Tottenham and Middlesbrough still remain apart in their respective valuations of the England Under-21 international following the latest round of talks in London.

The Sun have revealed that despite the fact there is no agreement between both sides at this time with the deal reported to be stalling, there is confidence on Spence’s side of the table that an agreement will eventually be reached between the two sides.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is said to have taken over from Fabio Paratici in leading the talks with the Championship side with managing director of football, Fabio Paratici focused on other targets and has recently headed back to his native Italy (Sky Sports).

Daniel Levy has a track record for his hard-nose negotiating style to try and get the best deal for Tottenham, if the club are prepared to walk away from a move for Spence it has to be for a player who is ready to walk into the starting eleven.
