Report: Defender has asked Aurier about joining club – Spurs in constant contact over deal

A report from Foot Mercato has claimed that Tottenham are in constant contact with Premier League rivals, West Ham United, over a potential summer transfer deal.

Spurs have apparently made contact on numerous occasions regarding the availability of defender, Issa Diop.

Not only is the centre-back said to be open to joining the North London side, but Diop has reportedly already made contact with Serge Aurier to ask about the club.

Aurier and Diop were both players at Toulouse during the same period, with the former being a key star as the latter was coming through the ranks.

Diop has now played 64 games across two seasons for West Ham, impressing particularly during his first campaign. Before that, he was a regular for Toulouse between 2015 and 2018, playing 85 games and scoring five goals.

However, despite a desire to sign the 22-year-old, Foot Mercato add that the relationship between Spurs and West Ham may cause problems. The Hammers are said to want £52 million for the defender.
