Report: Defender tells Serie A outfit he wants to leave amid Spurs speculation

Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Nikola Milenkovic has informed Fiorentina he will leave the Serie A outfit at the end of the season, according to Milan News.

Calciomercato claimed last month that Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United along with Inter and Milan, are all interested in securing the central defender’s signature this summer for a fee in the region of £22million.

Mourinho has chopped and changed his central defensive partnerships this season with Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Joe Rodon struggling to impress on a consistent basis.

The 6ft 5in defender is out of contract with the Serie A outfit in 2022 with the report suggesting the Fiorentina admit that they face a losing battle to keep him at the club beyond the end of the current campaign.

A central defender has to be high on Tottenham’s shopping list this summer, the amount of individual errors our players have made defensively this season has been alarming. However, Mourinho seems reluctant to keep with a consistent pairing which isn’t exactly ideal when trying to create consistency in a partnership.
