Report: Details emerge as Harry Kane is now ‘increasingly likely’ to stay at Spurs

The Daily Mail have claimed that Harry Kane is now ‘increasingly likely’ to stay at Tottenham after the North London club rejected Bayern Munich’s latest offer.

It was The Athletic’s David Ornstein who broke the news that Bayern’s offer of €100m (£86m) had been turned down by Tottenham, with the journalist adding that Bayern officials are set to meet to discuss their next move.

The Mail have now shed light on why Daniel Levy rejected the offer, claiming that the guaranteed portion of the fee – believed to be in the region of £73m – was deemed too short.

Harry Kane is increasingly likely to stay at Spurs

The report asserts that the England captain has set his own personal deadline for the transfer, making it clear that he will commit to Tottenham for one more year if the transfer is not concluded before the club’s opening match of the season against Brentford.

The outlet adds that Kane now looks increasingly likely to stay at Spurs and see off his contract, with the striker having no intention of signing a new deal at the moment.

I am not yet convinced that this will be the end of Bayern’s pursuit of Kane. I would not be surprised if this transfer saga runs on for another few weeks. It will be interesting to see if the striker makes up his mind to stay once the new campaign gets underway.
