Report: Details emerge as Pochettino is ‘pushing hard’ to get Tottenham job

Football Insider have revealed that Mauricio Pochettino is now trying to drum up support in the media to help push his return to Tottenham Hotspur.

Multiple outlets over the last few days have indicated that Spurs are not in favour of the idea of reappointing Pochettino.

The Daily Star reported earlier this week that the Argentine has been informed by the North London club that they are looking at other candidates, with Julian Nagelsmann, Thomas Frank, Vincent Kompany and Arne Slot said to be at the top of the Lilywhites’ wishlist.

The Athletic claimed on Wednesday that Pochettino would be open to returning to N17 as he still feels a special kinship for the club but it was asserted that Tottenham had not even reached out to him regarding the vacancy so far.

Football Insider have now also suggested that Spurs are not convinced that re-hiring the 51-year-old is the best move.

However, the publication reveals that Pochettino has not given up on the job and is now ‘pushing hard behind the scenes’ to return to Hotspur Way.

The report claims that the former Spurs manager is now trying to drum up support in the media for his candidacy.

It is revealed that Pochettino even took a high-profile broadcaster out for dinner recently to help push his case in the media.

Spurs Web Opinion

I think a potential return to Tottenham for Pochettino could depend on the verdict of Fabio Paratici’s appeal.

If the Italian’s ban is not overturned, thus forcing Spurs to part ways with him, I believe there is a decent chance that Daniel Levy will be on the phone with the Argentine straight away.
