Report: Details emerge as Qatar Sports Investment continue talks with Tottenham

The Athletic have revealed that Qatar Sports Investments are continuing their talks with Tottenham regarding the purchase of a minority stake in the club.

It first emerged a couple of weeks ago that QSI chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi had met with Daniel Levy to discuss buying a minority stake in Tottenham (CBS Sports).

Since then multiple outlets claimed that the talks were merely exploratory (Football.London’s Alasdair Gold), with QSI said to have discussed a potential offer under £1 billion for a 25 per cent stake in the club (The Telegraph).

The Athletic have now explained that only 15 per cent of Tottenham was on the table in Levy’s latest discussions with Al-Khelaifi in London.

The report adds that the conversations between the two parties are continuing with the QSI chief reported to have spent two weeks in London overall.

It is explained that Levy believes Tottenham are worth at least as much as Chelsea, owing to the club’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, with a value of £2.5bn ($3.1bn) being mooted for the North London club.

I would not be surprised if Levy values Spurs at well above the £2.5bn that Chelsea were sold for as the revenue-generating potential of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which is quickly establishing itself as one of the best multi-use venues for events in London, is unmatched.
