Report: Details emerge as Spurs have already made contact with Nagelsmann

The Times have revealed that Tottenham reached out to the representatives of Julian Nagelsmann over the weekend about becoming the club’s next head coach.

The speculation linking Naglesmann with a move to Spurs continues to heat up after the German parted ways with Bayern Munich a few days ago.

The Telegraph’s Matt Law reported on Monday that the departed Bayern boss heads Tottenham’s wishlist at the moment ahead of the likes of Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi, Celtic’s Ange Postecoglou and Luis Enrique.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claimed yesterday that Nagelsmann would be open to taking the Spurs job but he wants to take his time and has no interest in replacing Conte immediately.

If The Times’ latest update is to be believed, Spurs have wasted no time in contacting the 35-year-old, with the North London club said to have reached out to him over the weekend.

The report adds that Tottenham want to talk to a number of candidates as soon as possible to try to avoid a situation like the one in 2021.

However, it is explained that Nagelsmann wants to weigh up his options in the summer as he expects a number of big clubs, including Real Madrid, to be on the lookout for a new manager soon.

The one thing that Nagelsmann’s sacking has guaranteed is that one of him or Mauricio Pochettino will be free this summer (whoever Real Madrid do not appoint).

However, it is unclear at the moment if Pochettino is even in consideration for the Tottenham job, with Paratici seemingly not being a fan of the Argentine.
