Report: Details emerge as Tottenham cool interest in Julian Nagelsmann

The Evening Standard have suggested that Tottenham Hotspur are no longer overly keen on appointing Julian Nagelsmann.

After the shock news of Nagelsmann’s departure from Bayern Munich emerged a couple of weeks ago, the German is said to have instantly shot to the top of Tottenham’s wishlist to replace Antonio Conte (Football Insider).

The Telegraph’s Matt Law even told Matt Hayes – Tottenham blog last week that he felt Spurs stood a good chance of attracting Nagelsmann as the German was ‘something of a Tottenham fan’ and that Daniel Levy had a very good relationship with the departed Bayern boss’ agent.

However, things appear to have shifted since Graham Potter’s sacking at Chelsea, with reports over the last few days revealing that the 35-year-old is now in talks with the Stamford Bridge hierarchy (Fabrizio Romano).

If The Evening Standard’s latest update is to be believed, Nagelsmann might no longer be considered a priority for Spurs.

The report asserts that the North London club’s interest in the former RB Leipzig boss ‘appears to have cooled’.

Spurs Web Opinion

The only reason Tottenham might have moved on to other targets is if they found that Nagelsmann was not overly keen on taking the job.

Spurs would want to avoid a repeat of 2021, which is why they might not want to waste too much time trying to get candidates who might be out of their reach.
