Report: Details emerge as Tottenham could sack Paratici and Conte together

CalcioMercato have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could also sack Fabio Paratici along with Antonio Conte over the coming days.

The writing seems to be on the wall for Conte at Spurs, with multiple outlets reporting over the past 48 hours that Daniel Levy is expected to call time on the Italian’s spell at the North London club (Telegraph).

Reports over the past two weeks have indicated that Paratici still has Levy’s trust, with the Spurs chairman thought to have asked his managing director of football to come up with a list of managers to replace Conte (Daily Mail).

However, CalcioMercato have now suggested that Paratici could end up following Conte out of the door at Spurs.

The publication explains that it was the former Juventus director who spearheaded Conte’s arrival at Spurs, with the 50-year-old said to have convinced Levy to appoint the former Inter Milan boss and hand him a bumper contract.

It is alleged that Paratici could thus pay for his poor judgement regarding Conte by losing his job.

I suspect that the crucial detail with respect to Paratici’s future is the verdict of the appeal to his ban. If the ban is overturned, I expect the Italian to stay on at Tottenham.

While the 50-year-old has got the managerial appointments wrong so far, the club’s recruitment has generally been excellent since he took over.
