Report details how Spurs fans could face travel difficulty with PL trip to Liverpool

Tottenham supporters could face travel difficulties for their trip to Liverpool next month with the Premier League pushing back the game’s kick-off time, according to the Daily Mail.

The latest round of broadcast selections was completed on Monday, with Spurs confirming their clash against Liverpool is set to be one of the fixtures affected.

Antonio Conte’s men were initially due to kick-off against the Reds at Anfield on Saturday, May 7 at 3 pm, but its selection for broadcast on BT Sport has seen it pushed back later in the day to 7.45 pm.

And the Daily Mail reports Tottenham fans could be forced to deal with huge travel inconveniences in getting back from Merseyside with the match concluding at a time where transport will be limited.

It comes after Spurs also confirmed a new date of Thursday, May 12, for the postponed north London derby against Arsenal – just 10 days before the end of the season. The match against Burnley will also take place on Sunday, May 15 at 12 pm.

The original was due to take place in January but saw it called off after an outbreak of Covid-19 in the Gunners’ camp (Sky Sports).

Spurs Web Opinion

As expected, there has not been much consideration given to travelling fans by the Premier League and TV companies when it comes to fixtures like this.

It is a lengthy journey as it is, and to have it finish at a time when travel will be limited is a pretty ridiculous decision, but not entirely surprising.
