Report: Door could be open for Spurs to swoop after transfer deal hits complications

Brentford’s deal to sign Antonio Nusa is now in some doubt after complications were faced over the proposed transfer, according to The Athletic.

The 18-year-old had been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks but it was Brentford who appeared to steal a march on their Premier League rivals.

The Bees had agreed a fee with Club Brugge for the winger along with a plan for his development which would have seen the player remain with the Belgian side for the remainder of the campaign on loan.

It is now said that the transfer has hit a backward step which has now potentially opened the door for other interested clubs to make a push before the transfer window closes on Thursday night.

Could Spurs go back in for Antonio Nusa?

Despite interest from Tottenham, along with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, Brentford was Nusa‘s preferred choice.

Whether Tottenham are now prepared to go back in for Nusa after the Brentford deal hit the buffers remains to be seen, especially if the player also showed his desire to join Thomas Frank’s side over the North Londoners.

Ange Postecoglou wants players who are committed and have a desire to play under him, with Nusa having expressed his interest to move to Brentford could be the nail in the coffin for this transfer.
