Report: Door may be opened for Spurs to sign Man United star this summer

The Express have reported that the door may be opened for Tottenham to sign Manchester United attacker, Anthony Martial this summer.

The report claims that Martial could be pushed towards an exit if Man United sign Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer market, with Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood also competing for those attacking spots in the starting XI.

It is reported that Man United have other transfer targets in mind but must first sell players to raise funds, with Martial earmarked as a possible outgoing.

Some Spurs fans may remember that Tottenham reportedly wanted to sign the winger when he was still at Monaco in 2015 but the Red Devils beat them to it.

The report claims that Martial has remained on Tottenham’s radar but Man United have always been reluctant to sell to a rival. However, that could reportedly change this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion:

While Martial would come as an upgrade to the likes of Erik Lamela in the Spurs squad, I don’t think he would be the right player to go for considering how much Man United would likely charge. £30m and below, sure, anything above that and I don’t think Spurs can afford it this summer.
