Report: Dortmund and Leipzig eyeing up rumoured Spurs target

Rumoured Tottenham target Ben Godfrey is attracting attention from Germany with Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig both keen, according to The Sun.

Spurs have been linked with the Norwich defender who is set to leave the Premier League newcomers as they potentially prepare for life in the Championship next season (Daily Express).

However, Spurs are set to encounter a challenge to sign the £25m-rated England U21 star with the two Bundesliga sides eyeing up the youngster.

The defender has had a difficult year at Carrow Road with the Canaries sitting rock bottom of the Premier League table, but the 22-year-old is set for greater things with an expected move away this summer.

Godfrey has featured 25 times for the Canaries with 75% of those appearances coming from the starting eleven (Transfermarkt).

It is said the two German outfits have been monitoring the defender for a number of months now and the Norwich manager, Daniel Farke has good connections within the domestic league of his own country.

With players such as Jadon Sancho and more recently, Jude Bellingham paving the way for young English talent into the Bundesliga it is difficult to compete with the likes of Dortmund at the minute. Sancho, in particular, has excelled in Germany and has definitely shown English youngsters it is possible to move abroad to push forward your career.
