Report: Dortmund reach ‘full agreement’ to snap up star linked with Spurs

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Borussia Dortmund have reached a full agreement for the transfer of rumoured Tottenham target Nico Schlotterbeck.

Schlotterbeck has shot to the limelight thanks to his solid displays for Freiburg this campaign.

Tottenham are reportedly prioritising signing a left-sided centre-back this summer, with the Freiburg star thought to be one of the options on the North London club’s wishlist (The Athletic).

Sky Sports Germany reported last week that Dortmund looked set to win the race for the defender after agreeing personal terms with him.

The report added that Marco Rose’s side were yet to agree on a transfer fee with Freiburg, who were demanding a fee of more than €20m (£16.6m) for the 22-year-old, who has just 12 months left to run on his contract at Europa-Park Stadion (Transfermarkt).

However, Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that Dortmund have reached a ‘full agreement’ for Schlotterbeck, with the German international set to become the club’s second signing ahead of the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

This is a shame as Schlotterbeck would have been a very good fit for us and he was probably going to be the most economical of the four left centre-back targets named in The Athletic article due to his contract situation.

One would now expect Spurs to turn their attention to either Alessandro Bastoni or Pau Torres but both of them would likely prove far more expensive than the German.
