Report: Dortmund to battle Bayern for Spurs forward

According to a report in the Daily Express, Borussia Dortmund are keen to steal a march on their rivals Bayern Munich in the chase for Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott.

The 17-year-old is rated very highly at the club and boasts of a impressive goal scoring record at youth level.

Parrott, who recently made his senior debut for the Republic of Ireland, is said to be interesting the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Real Madrid.

The teenager’s performance in the UEFA Youth League has reportedly caught the attention of scouts from the aforementioned clubs which included him scoring four goals against Red Star Belgrade.

The report claims that the two Bundesliga giants are the frontrunners for the Spurs youngster and that Dortmund are keen to steal a march on Bayern in the race for his signature.

Parrott’s only appearance for the first team appearance this season has come in the Carabao Cup game against Colchester United.

Parrott is certainly highly rated at Tottenham and so the club wouldn’t likely be open to letting him go. However, with Pochettino’s sacking, it is possible that the Irish youngster could look towards the Bundesliga in order to get game time as Jose Mourinho isn’t known for developing young players.
