Emanuel Rosu has reported that Bayern Munich offered Radu Dragusin 75 per cent more than Tottenham, but the centre-back still decided to move to North London.
Until Tuesday morning, it had been suggested by various outlets that Spurs were on track to sign Dragusin after the North London side agreed to send Djed Spence on loan to Genoa as a part of the deal (Evening Standard).
However, the situation then took a turn, with Romano confirming that Bayern had launched an official offer for the 21-year-old, which was thought to be higher than the one sent by Spurs.
The journalist added that the Premier League club remained confident of winning the race for the Romanian international.
Radu Dragusin really wanted to join Tottenham
Romano provided another update on the transfer this morning, stating that the Bavarian club made an ‘important salary’ offer to Dragusin. Rosu has now confirmed that this offer was 75 per cent higher than Tottenham’s.
Fortunately, Dragusin eventually decided to accept Tottenham’s offer over Bayern Munich (Fabrizio Romano), but it appears he left a lot of money on the table to do so.
Spurs Web Opinion
The fact that Dragusin turned down a move to a bigger club offering more money to come and compete with Van de Ven and Romero for a spot in the starting XI tells you all you need to know. This is the mindset Ange Postecoglou is looking for.
