Report: Dutch side reignite interest in Spurs player after failed January move

1908.nl have revealed that Feyenoord are ready to make another move for Bryan Gil after failing to persuade the Tottenham man to join them during the January window.

The report says that last season’s Eredivisie champions wish to bolster their options in attack ahead of next season and have now set their sights on Gil, who is surplus to requirements at Tottenham.

It is claimed that the Rotterdam club also showed ‘concrete interest’ in the Spaniard during January and faced competition for the player from the likes of Real Sociedad and Brighton at the time.

However, it is explained that the 23-year-old turned down the chance to move to De Kuip as he wanted to prove himself at Tottenham at the time

Feyenoord are now expected to try again for the former Sevilla man but the publication says that it is not clear what kind of formula the Dutch club would favour: a loan, a permanent purchase or a loan with an option to buy.

With Gil contracted to Tottenham until 2026, it would be the worse idea for the club to loan out the winger again next season even if Ange Postecoglou has decided that he is not part of his plans.

Spurs will only get around £7m-£10m for the winger this summer but should he impress out on loan, they could potentially get a much higher fee for him next January or in the summer of 2025.
