Report: ‘€60m would be needed’ for club to consider sale of Spurs-linked defender

Tottenham Hotspur were surprisingly active during the summer transfer window with Daniel Levy having wheeled and dealed to bolster Jose Mourinho’s squad.

One name who was heavily linked with a move to North London was Inter Milan’s Milan Škriniar.

Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio even published a report that includes a picture of Tottenham’s technical performance director Steve Hitchen in Milan.

The report claimed that Inter wanted £55million for the Slovakian international, with Spurs working to reduce the amount only for a deal to fail to materialise.

The Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that Spurs offered €35m (£30.2m) in September which was rebuffed by the Serie A giants.

Škriniar has been in impressive form for Inter this season having played in 25 matches in all competitions, scoring two goals (transfermarkt).

The report suggests that such has been the 26-year-old’s improvement, he has rediscovered the form shown in his days before Antonio Conte became manager and it would now take an offer of €60m (£51.8m) for Inter to even consider selling him.
