It is no secret that Ange Postecoglou wants additions in the middle of the park and with Tottenham short of homegrown numbers, Gibbs-White has seemingly emerged as a target for the North London side.

Various outlets have reported over recent weeks that Nottingham Forest might have to cash in on the 24-year-old this summer due to their PSR issues and that Spurs are ready to pounce (talkSPORT).

A few days ago, Football Insider even asserted that the Lilywhites had already begun talks with Forest over a deal for the English midfielder.

However, the outlet made it clear that the Midlands side have no intention of letting Gibbs-White leave on the cheap and want £60m for their star man.

Newcastle enter race for Morgan Gibbs-White

If HITC’s latest update is to be believed, Tottenham are expected to face some competition for Gibbs-White’s services, with Newcastle also keen on the player.

It is explained that the Magpies are ‘are already well down the road with their summer planning’, with the Forest star featuring prominently on their wishlist.

The publication adds that Edde Howe is a big fan of Gibbs-White, owing to his versatility, with the Newcastle boss quite keen to see the midfielder at St James Park.

Tottenham are in a much healthier financial position than Newcastle and should be able to outbid their rivals for Gibbs-White. However, the Magpies could come into some cash if Bruno Guimaraes departs, which is why Spurs would need to act quickly to get the Forest star.
