Report: Eight sides are keen to land Tottenham defender

According to a report from TEAMtalk, a large number of clubs in the Championship are interested in signing Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The 21-year-old, come through the youth ranks at Spurs and has since established himself as a full international for the United States.

The defender has spent the last couple of seasons on loan in the Championship at Sheffield United, Ipswich Town and Swansea City respectively. His performances for the Swans last season were particularly impressive.

The report claims that Tottenham do not wish to sell Carter-Vickers and instead want to loan him out for another season.

It is suggested that as many as eight Championship clubs, namely Leeds United, Fulham, West Brom, Derby County, Bristol City, Middlesbrough, Luton own, and Barnsley, are all interested in taking central defender for the season.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Carter-Vickers is clearly a talented player, the prospect of him challenging for a place in the Spurs first-team looks rather bleak at the moment given the performances of Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth, who are both around the same age as Carter-Vickers.

If he displays the same level of performances this season as he has done for the past two seasons, then Tottenham will be able to get a decent fee for him next summer.
