Report: Emerson Royal has spent £800k on three things to improve at Spurs

Emerson Royal has spent around £800,000 on goods and services in an attempt to improve his game at Tottenham Hotspur under Antonio Conte.

The Brazilian was signed from Barcelona as a right-back but has mainly operated in a wing-back role this season, starting all but one of Tottenham’s matches.

The Sun have now revealed that Emerson and his management team, which is led by his father, have spent almost £1m in the pursuit of improvements.

The wing-back has purchased a hyperbaric oxygen chamber to improve his fitness for those lung-busting runs up and down the Conte right flank.

He has also been working with a neuroscientist to work through the psychological pressures that come with being a starter for a big club in the Premier League.

Finally, Emerson’s team even commissioned a scouting report on PSG right-back, Achraf Hakimi, after the defender enjoyed so much success in Conte’s system at Inter Milan.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Say what you want about Emerson Royal, he is playing out of position in this new wing-back role, but he is giving it his all. It is impossible to criticise a player when they show this much commitment. It’s up to the manager to pick the best players for each game.
