Report: England could prevent Harry Kane from facing Tottenham in friendly

Football.London have revealed that Harry Kane might not play a part in Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season friendly with Bayern Munich next summer if England go deep into the Euros.

Kane could potentially get a chance to meet his former teammates next summer and play against Spurs for the first time in his career, with the Premier League side and Bayern both expected to travel to South Korea for pre-season.

According to Football.London, the two sides are expected to face each other on August 2 as part of the Coupang Play Series tournament, which Tottenham last took part in during the summer of 2022.

However, it is explained that Kane’s participation in the tournament is not assured, with the striker set to play a key part in his nation’s quest to win the European Championship in the summer.

The report points out that should Gareth Southgate’s men be successful and go deep in the tournament, the 30-year-old may be handed a longer summer break by Bayern and might thus not fly with the squad to Korea.

With the Euros going into mid-July, one would not expect Kane to be part of the trip to Asia if England make it until the semi-final stage, with clubs usually giving players a three-week holiday.
