Report: Eriksen snubbed Man Utd due to this promise he made to Daniel Levy

Christian Eriksen is reported to have ended talks with Manchester United due to a previous promise he made to Daniel Levy.

The Daily Mail claim that Eriksen vowed to the chairman through his agent in 2017 that he would not play for another London club out of his respect for Spurs and after United had made contact, he made his intentions clear that he has no intention of playing for another Premier League club.

Eriksen has already stated his desire to leave North London this summer to seek a new challenge whilst specifically inviting interest from Real Madrid (Ekstra Bladet).

The 27-year-old’s agent Martin Schoots informed the Old Trafford outfit that the Dane wants to play his football in Spain instead.

Eriksen is also said to be on the radar of Atletico Madrid, but it remains to be seen whether he will end up at either La Liga side.

The playmaker who is in the last year of his contract at Tottenham does have some time on his side for a deal to materialise with the window remaining opening for Spanish clubs to finalise their business until August 31st (talkSPORT).
