Report: European club already eyeing Jose Mourinho after Spurs sacking

It has been reported by Spanish media outlet, Todofichajes, that Valencia are lining up a move for Jose Mourinho after the Special One was sacked by Spurs this week (as relayed by The Sun).

Daniel Levy and the Tottenham board parted ways with the Portuguese coach after a run of poor form, handing the interim role to Ryan Mason until the end of the season.

Mourinho lasted 17 months in charge of the Lilywhites following the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino back in November 2019 but was given his own marching orders on Monday.

It is said that the owner of Valencia, Peter Lim, has already made contact with Jorge Mendes, Mourinho’s agent.

The pair apparently discussed a potential move for Mourinho to return to Spanish football. The infamous head coach managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013.

Valencia already have a manager in the form of Javi Gracia, however, it is reported that the club have been thinking about getting rid of the former Watford man for some time. Diego Martinez is also mentioned as a possible successor.
