Report: European club considering late swoop for Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko

German media outlet, Bild have now reported that Hertha Berlin are considering late transfer moves for a number of midfielders, including Moussa Sissoko from Spurs.

Sissoko started Tottenham’s game against Manchester United in the Premier League yesterday and completed all 90 minutes as the Lilywhites cruised to a 6-1 victory.

The Frenchman has been a senior player for the North Londoners ever since he arrived from Newcastle, although he didn’t quite take off until 2018.

Over the past four seasons, Sissoko has completed 34, 47, 44, and 35 games respectively for Tottenham, showing versatility and reliability (Wikipedia).

However, the 31-year-old arguably has more competition than ever in central midfield with Harry Winks, Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele, Gedson Fernandes, Dele Alli, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and more.

Bild claim that Hertha Berlin are now looking at Sissoko, Marko Grujic from Liverpool, and look close to signing Matteo Guendouzi on loan from Arsenal today.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Spurs finally have a great squad of players with depth in every position. Compromising that by selling or loaning an experienced professional who just played 90 minutes in a 6-1 win over Man United would be foolish. Not to mention, taking away Tanguy Ndombele’s role model in the club would surely hinder the Frenchman.
