Report: European club ended interest in Tottenham player over recent days

According to the print edition of L’Equipe (31/07/23 as relayed by Sport Witness), Paris Saint-Germain made contact with Hugo Lloris over a potential move to the French capital but they eventually decided against pursuing the Tottenham man.

Lloris is now on the lookout for a new club, with Tottenham signing Guglielmo Vicario likely to take over the number-one shirt from the experienced shot-stopper.

According to reports over recent weeks, the 36-year-old is now considering offers from Saudi Arabia as well as from across Europe (90 min).

PSG end interest in Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris

L’Equipe have now asserted that PSG also made a tentative approach to sign Lloris this summer as the Ligue 1 giants were in need of a backup to Gianluigi Donnarumma, with Keylor Navas expected to leave the club.

In fact, it is revealed that the club’s strategic advisor, Luis Campos ‘continued to maintain contact’ with the Tottenham captain’s entourage until ‘recent days’.

However, PSG instead chose to sign 22-year-old Arnau Tennis on a free transfer instead, with the French club thought to have felt that the opportunity to sign the former Barcelona man was simply too good to pass up.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Hugo was happy to be an understudy, he would probably stay at Tottenham and see out his contract. The 36-year-old clearly wants to play regularly, which is why I do not think he would have seriously considered joining PSG.
