Report: European club pull out of the race for Spurs star due to lack of funds

The Evening Standard have revealed that Paris Saint-Germain are not expected to make a move for Harry Kane this summer, given their financial issues.

Foot Mercato reported on Tuesday that Kane’s representatives had met with PSG sporting director Luis Campos recently to discuss a potential move to Paris this summer.

However, according to The Evening Standard’s latest update, the Ligue 1 giants are not expected to follow up on their interest in the Tottenham man.

After having been fined by UEFA for Financial Fair Play breaches in September, it is explained that PSG are prioritising reducing costs during the off-season in order to avoid further sanctions.

The report states that while the French club admire Kane, they are not likely to pursue any big-name player this summer even if Neymar follows Lionel Messi out of the door.

PSG are instead expected to focus their attention on securing homegrown talents this summer as they attempt to reduce their wage bill.

The publication adds that Manchester United and Bayer Munich are continuing to keep close tabs on the England captain’s situation.

Even if PSG were able to afford a deal for Kane, I do not think the striker would be interested in leaving the Premier League right now.

Manchester United remain the 29-year-old’s only realistic destination if he is to leave Spurs this summer.
