Report: European giant left scared that Tottenham could steal top target

Tottenham Hotspur haven’t signed a new player in over 15 months, so it would be a big surprise if Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino didn’t invest in the summer transfer window.

One player who has been heavily linked with Spurs in the last few months is the French powerhouse Tanguy Ndombele (Daily Star).

Tottenham have even been credited as the club in pole position to sign the Lyon central midfielder, as they look to replace long-time first teamer Mousa Dembele (Le 10 Sport).

The Express claim that Spurs are joined by Man United and Man City in targeting Ndombele, while Juventus are also keen on signing the player.

Bleacher Report transfer guru Dean Jones has now claimed that Juventus are fearful that Spurs and Man United could steal a march on the French midfielder, a player they thought they would be able to sign uncontested. Jones goes on to urge Spurs to offer big money for the 22-year-old.

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Tottenham were only allowed to sign one player this transfer window, Ndombele would be my choice hands down.

The midfield man looks to have everything Tottenham lost through selling Dembele, as well as having age on his side and also adding the odd goal to his game.

When you talk about players who could take Spurs to the next level, Ndombele certainly seems like one of those.
