Report: European giant ready to make a fresh approach for Mauricio Pochettino

Real Madrid have not enjoyed the best of starts to the new season under Zinedine Zidane.

The Mirror report that the Spanish giants are ready to make a new approach for Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino with club president Florentino Perez remaining keen on the Argentine.

Madrid have dropped five points from their opening five La Liga matches and whilst Barcelona are experiencing a worse start; the Bernabeu outfit were comfortably beaten 3-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in their opening game of the Champions League group stages.

Zidane is said to be already under pressure with Madrid prepared to be ready to move for Pochettino if he signals his interest in a return to Spain, where he previously played for Espanyol.

Pochettino has previously revealed that he turned down the chance to manage Madrid last year which he found difficult after he had signed a five-year contract extension with chairman Daniel Levy also refusing to entertain any talks (The Sun).

Tottenham have now enjoyed the best of starts to the season and the lure of Real Madrid could prove to be too tempting to turn down if they come calling once again.
