Report: European giant readying measly £20m bid for Eriksen

Tottenham Hotspur managed to hold onto their key playmaker this summer in Christian Eriksen, with the transfer window now firmly shut until January.

This came after the Great Dane revealed his desire to move on from North London in search of a bigger and better challenge (Ekstra Bladet).

However, there were no concrete bids for Eriksen in the press, hence why he still remains a Spurs player for the first half of the season at least.

It appears that his mind is firmly on Tottenham for the moment though, as he scored the opener against Arsenal in the North London Derby and Pochettino seems intent on keeping faith with the midfield man.

However, a report from Defensa Central has now claimed that Real Madrid will test Tottenham with a January bid of between £18m and £22.5m for the star.

This seems like an insult of an offer, especially after Daniel Levy reportedly wanted £130m for the player earlier this summer (Mirror).

Spurs Web Opinion:

I can’t see Levy accepting just £20m for Eriksen. At that point, I think it would be worth just keeping him and letting him leave on a free. However, the ideal scenario for me would be a swap deal with Juventus and Dybala.
